Ron was born and reared in Hollywood, Florida, when it was a small town with 15,000 residents, most of whom knew each other. Except for the time attending undergraduate and law schools at the University of Florida, he has lived in and around the Hollywood area.

Ron has been married to Barbara for 54 years. They have four children and ten grandchildren in whom they delight.

Ron was admitted to the Florida Bar on June 1, 1976, and upon graduation was employed by the largest law firm in Broward County—Fleming, O’Bryan and Fleming with Ron becoming attorney number 28. Ron joined other friends to form their own firm in 1978 and continued to grow and mold the firm. In 1980, Bob joined Ron in that firm. In 1990, Ron and Bob spun off their own firm—Gossett & Gossett, P.A.

 

Ron is admitted to practice in the following courts and has practiced in each court on at least one occasion:

All State Courts in the State of Florida since June 1976;

All State Courts in the State of Iowa (retiring from that Bar in 2023); Supreme Court of the United States of America (November 26, 1979); United States Circuit Court of Appeals for the

Second;

Third;

Fifth; and,

Eleventh Circuits;

United States District Court for the:

Southern District of Florida; and,

Middle District of Florida;

United States Tax Court; and,

United States Court of Claims.

 

He has been granted pro hac vice admission to, and practiced in, the following courts:

United States District Court for the:

Eastern District of New York;

Southern District of New York;

Eastern District of Pennsylvania;

Northern District of Georgia;

Western District of Texas;

Western District of Missouri;

United States Bankruptcy Court for the:

Eastern District of New York;

Western District of Texas;

State trial level courts in the States of:

Pennsylvania;

California;

Iowa.
